Q. Why did Hashem give Bnai Israel the commandments directly if He knew they would die and He would have to resurrect them?
Hashem knew that Bnai Israel could not withstand His voice, but since they asked to hear the commandments directly from Him, Hashem wanted to fulfill their wish, so that in the future they would not say, “If only He had granted us a direct Revelation, we would never serve idols.” However, after they heard the first two commandments, Bnai Israel was so frightened they begged Moshe to transmit the rest of the commandments.
