The devils in the details!

Every single task that was done in the Bait Hamikdash- holy temple- was done by a kohan- high priest. No matter how small or unimportant the task was deemed to be, the kohanim would perform the task. The kohanim did not exhibit any arrogance, thinking they were too great to perform such a minor task. Hashem wanted to instill humility behind the creation of the temple, no matter how important a person was, in the presence of Hashem, the person must remain humble in His palace. For example, there was a menial task in the temple of removing the ashes from the alter; however, all the kohanim switched off performing this task, their humility allowed them to see that this ‘miniscule’ task was not looked at as lowly in the eyes of Hashem.
In all, this should remind us that no task is too small in the eyes of Hashem. Everything we do should be done with complete humility and enthusiasm, seeing that the bigger picture in serving Hashem starts with the fulfilling the miniscule details with utter humility.
