Channeling the bad and making it GREAT

After the sin of the golden calf, Hashem wanted to destroy Bnai Israel. He said to Moshe, “They deserve destruction, they are a stiff-necked people!” Moshe immediately defended Bnai Israel and pointed out that their trait of obstinacy could be channeled in serving Hashem and being faithful to Him. The stubborn headed quality the Jews have, has allowed them to be a faithful nation throughout the centuries.  The Jews have held onto the dictates of the Torah for centuries because they have channeled their ‘stiff necked’ personality into observing Torah law. With this in mind, we should all look at our personal weaknesses and see how our greatest strengths root from that same source; it’s just a matter of channeling that character trait positively.
