Tefillah is what holds our nation together. Time and again, we tend to undermine the true power of our tefillah. When Hashem wanted to destroy Bnai Israel for their sin of the golden calf, what saved them was their tefillah and their continuous teshuva- repentance. With that in mind, this month of Adar is extremely powerful month of tefillah. This month is considered the month of ‘afooch’- flipping. Just as the Jewish people had a decree over their heads to be exterminated, Hashem created a hidden miracle, and flipped the decree over their heads and the Jewish people were saved, and Haman was killed.
Furthermore, we should look for this inspiration in our own lives. If there is anything we are dissatisfied with and would like to change, this is the month to pray for it. This also relates to the fast of Esther. She prayed and fasted for three days so that Hashem would save the Jewish people. Indeed her prayers were answered and the Jewish people were saved. The moral of the story is, you too can be saved through the power of your tefillah.
